Red

Hey, this is Red, Liberty agreed to let me do the post about me.
Liberty's family adopted me a couple weeks ago, to confirm that I am owned by them they took me in and got me fixed, and also got me a rabies tag.

They are guessing I am around 3-4 years old. They think I am part Lab, but who knows for sure!!
I LOVE water, and I go on trail rides with Liberty's owner(well I guess my owner too).
I sleep inside, but like to stay outside during the day.
My owner has taken some pictures of me, check them out and let me know what you think!

My tongue...

Hey guys, it's me Liberty!

My trainer thought it was "odd" how I sleep with my tongue sticking out.
Sometimes when she can't tell if I am asleep she will look to see if my tongue is sticking out. If it is that means I am asleep!
Hope you like the pictures!

(oh and my owner/trainer wanted to say something-it is written below my name)

For all who left comments on the post "Career changed" thank you, and Frankie will be going to a nice family to be a spoiled pet. She will be loved and taken care of. I am hoping to see her again soon, but who knows. - Frankie's trainer

Cross That ... Career-Changed...

Right after I finshed writing that post I got this email:
"This is to let you know that Frankie has been career changed due to Skin Allergies and Harness Reaction. Due to her allergies & Harness Reaction she will not be placed in Gifted Canine and we are offering her back to the raiser. Please contact the raiser and let me know if they would like to adopt Frankie back. If the raiser decides not to adopt Frankie she will go to public adoption."

I decided to go ahead and publish the other post just because it took me so long to write it.

I am told Frankie will go to her new home in 1-2 weeks. I really wanted to adopt her but I couldn't raise another guide dog puppy if I do since we already have so many dogs with our old farm dog, new pup Liberty, and Red.
I think it was more medical issues than anything that put her out. She wore the harness 3 times before she went down to school and she didn't have a problem. If she didn't have medical issues I bet they could get her over the harness reaction.
But hey I am not the expert, they are.
Oh well, I hope to have a better dog next time (less medical issues!!).
If I find out who is adopting her I will post any information on the blog, I know she is getting spayed in the next couple days, but that is all.
Please hope that she is placed with a person that will let me visit her(and lives near me!).

I was bored so I added more photos of her at the bottom. (I think I take too many photos of my dogs!)

Enjoy,

**FRANKIE UPDATE**

Hey,

This is Frankie's trainer.

I received this email today from my Area Coordinator

Just wanted you to know that Frankie will be spayed and is staying in the Guide Dog IFT program. I wanted you to know how much we appreciate the challenges that went with raising a Breeder evaluate. I always thought that they picked breeders from a group that would not become guide dogs due to some guide dog defect. The reality is that Breeders are the best of the best. Know that Frankie is continuing on the path to guide dog work. Thank you for all you did with her.

Well most people who would get this email might be saying "rats, I wanted her to be a breeder", but I think this will be good for Frankie. I don't think she is the kind of dog that you need for a breeder; she would probably hate it.

Enjoy the photos of Frankie (various photos I picked that I have taken over the year)

Sending good luck your way Frankie, I miss you and I love you!!

Frankie will be missed...

Liberty is alive!! (and there is a new addition to our family!)

Hey guys this is Liberty... yes the dog that never updates!!!

Well guess what! I am really going to update in this post, I will even show you movies with me doing some of my commands, and best of all I will show you pictures of me!!
Here goes,

UPDATES FROM LIBERTY

Hi, my name is Liberty. I am a 3 month old(almost 4!) English Mastiff puppy.
My family picked me up February 6th 2009. I was very cute and little then, but now I am a "sophisticated" puppy.
I got to be with Frankie (who I really miss!) for a couple weeks before she left to go to "college" . But I have heard that my trainer/owner will be receiving a new guide dog puppy next month, so I guess that will help me get over Frankie being gone.

I have been growing really fast lately, take a look at my "pillow pictures" down bellow, (my owner took a picture of me laying on a dog bed the day I came, and then she took another picture of me a couple weeks later, and then today!).

Also, before I go I have one last thing to tell you guys, there is a new addition to our family! His name is "Red" he showed up here a couple weeks ago( a stray dog), and he fit right in, I wasn't allowed to put this on the blog until now because we didn't know if his owner was going to show up out of no where and take him back, but we have just gotten him fixed and he has a rabies tag, so we are officially calling him ours now. And about his name, my owners couldn't agree on a name so they just started calling him by his color, and it kind of stuck! You might notice him in a video or two of mine. I will post some pictures of him in another post later on.

Frankie & new puppy update!!

Hey, this is Frankie's trainer.

Though I haven't heard any on how Frankie is doing, I did receive Frankie's picture in Harness (!!!), and the post card that informs me that Frankie has passed her hip exams.

The picture of Frankie in harness was not scanned in (I don't know much about scanners!), so I just took a picture of it with my camera.

*New puppy update*

Though I won't find out the puppy's name until a couple weeks before I receive him, I did find out his parents' names. His mom's name is Bella (this is her first litter!), and his dad's name is Gilbert.

Enjoy the pictures, and Liberty will be doing a update soon!

NEW GUIDE DOG PUPPY!!

Hey guys,

I have some awesome news.

A male yellow Lab will be coming to me on May 29th(well, that is the day he is released; he will probably show up 2 days after that).

I don't yet know his parents names but in the next week I should.

I won't find out his name 'til 2 weeks before I get him(I am guessing, you never know when they will tell you).

I was really hoping for a Vizsla, but that will be too long of a wait.

Great news is going around for sure, because Frankie just passed her hip exams, a dog in our group(Angel) was just matched, and now I am getting a puppy!
I can't wait!

FRANKIE PASSED!!!

Hey guys,

Great news, I just got a email saying Frankie passed her hip exams!!
I was so certain she was going to get put out of the school because of her hips!!
Here is the email from the guide dog school:

Good Afternoon Puppy Land! Here are the Hip x-ray results for the March IFT.
The following dogs have passed their hip evaluations:

Frankie
J.J
Katie

J.J & Katie are both from our group, Katie is Frankie's sister, and J.J is the dog I puppy sat in October.

Now that Frankie is out of the medical kennel she will start her training, then hopefully she will be seen in some of the IFT(in for training) pictures on the school's blog(which I will then post on my blog). And I should also get "school reports"from the trainer on how she is doing .
I CAN'T WAIT!
