Holiday Giveaway/Contest! ENTER NOW!

Hey furry following friends!
Please all followers KEEP READING THIS POST, you have a chance to enter to win some cool prizes (furry fun dog toys, treats, and something cool for your humans too)! That's right:
It's time for the HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY!!
Though the dog toys my raiser ordered for the giveaway haven't come in the mail yet - my raiser has decided to start this giveaway/contest TODAY on December 1st 2010! Pictures of items in person will be posted upon arrival - pictures below of prizes were taken from the online store.
At first I was going to just do a giveaway (one fur the humans & one fur the dogs), but my raiser gave me a furry fun idea - and I'm now doing a CONTEST instead! (a very easy contest at that!).
Instead of picking the winners at random... my raiser will be picking the 5+ best contest entries - then letting her family pick the 2 grand winners of my contest!
So you have a furry good chance at winning... if you enter the BEST entry in this contest :)
Wanna know what the furry cool prizes are?? ...

Giveaway One: Dog Fun Pack (pictures below)
The Dog Fun Pack will include a leopard squeaker "mat" dog toy (a stuffed toy with SIXTEEN squeakers in it!), a set of 3 puppy face squeaker dog toys, some store bought treats AND homemade dog treats straight from our kitchen (won't be made 'til right before the prize is sent out), and maybe some other surprises along the way!

Giveaway Two: Humans Only
The humans Only prize includes a very cute (pictured below) cooking apron; my raiser does owns one - and would wear it to town if she could! This would be the perfect addition to your kitchen; and you could even cook your furry cute fella a dog treat or two! My raiser also may include some of her homemade Goat Milk Soap (which would be dog themed), but more on that later though.

Ready to see what you furry fellows have to do to get those AWESOME prizes??

Rules by my furry cool Raiser:
1. In order to be entered in 1 or both giveaways all you need to do is write a very short poem that is Christmas/Holiday & DOG (or pet) themed!

**Please note the poem can be AS SHORT or AS LONG as you want! It won't change you chance of winning!**

2. Once you write the poem (long or short) please either post it in a comment on THIS POST or email it to me at guidedogawareness AT yahoo DOT com (please make sure to include your blog address in the email), if you do email me the poem - Rudy would still love for you to leave a comment on this post!
3. If you email the poem to me I'll be sure to email you back to let you know I've received it; some of you may rather choose emailing the poem - unless you don't mind others seeing your poem BEFORE the contest ends

4. If you are considering entering this contest please be sure to do so - the more entries the BETTER! It won't take long at all to write up a fun little poem. I'll even be sure that Rudy posts reminders about this contest repeatedly through the time it's "open"!

**Depending on how many entries I get, decides whether or not Rudy will (or won't) be doing another giveaway/contest!**

5. Please note in the comment you leave on this post (with your poem or without) what prize pack you'd like to win (either or both!). By writing a poem & entering it in this contest you can be entered into BOTH contest prizes - or you can choose to just be entered into one. But please note that in the comment!! (Whether you'd like to be entered in the Dog Lovers Pack, the Humans Only pack, or BOTH)

6. Whether or NOT you enter this contest PLEASE pass this post along; publish the information on your blog & let all your blogging pals know! We want Rudy's first Holiday Giveaway to be a huge hit!

7. Please make sure to email me with ANY questions pertaining to the contest (guidedogawareness AT yahoo DOT com) we want all of you guys to participate!
I know I have OVER 200 followers - so Rudy better get a WHOLE bunch of entries :)

8. Contest starts TODAY (12-1-2010) and will be ending in 2 weeks (12-15-2010)

I'm handing the post back over to Rudy now -

So do you guys understand the rules? Make sure to email my raiser with any questions you may have, I want ALL of my furry friends to participate in this contest, it will only take like a minute to write a poem - so make sure to enter! Post/email me your poem NOW! (please!)
Enjoy the pictures below of some of the items for prizes - they look soo cool!

  3. Ode To Bobo and Meja

Oh where oh where would I be
Without the love of Bobo and Me...............................ja
Would I be like a tuna
on the Chicken of the Sea

    I don't think so cause I don't like water

Where oh where would I be
without these dogs I love so much
    certainly crazy
    and out of touch

(ahem??? mommy how is that different than now??? - bobo and meja)

    They kept me alive
when I didn't want to go on
    knowing their Papi
    would never come home

    So to Bobo I say
    thanks for straddling me
and letting me cry rivers of tears
onto your self then so wee

And to Meja who was always Papi's girl
    you look at me sometimes
and I think that you know
that now you're the apple of my eye
As we grow so we grow...

  8. What a great idea for a contest! Here's my poem...I call it, "An Important Reminder"

    AN IMPORTANT REMINDER

    Santa Paws is coming
Just as long as we’re all good
So we have to mind our parents
    And behave as we should.

If we all can make it
    The payoff is sublime
    But we all must behave
    …Most of the time!

    Cookies, treats, and dog beds
    Some fun squeaky toys
Oh, you know I love those
    And their squeaky noise!

    So no misbehaving, please
    Or Santa won’t appear.
We just can’t have a repeat
    Of what happened last year!

    Don’t chase the neighbor.
    No puking on the bed.
    We shouldn’t chew on slippers.
    Only eat what we’re fed.

Keep those all in mind, of course,
    But most importantly,
    This year no one potty
    On our Christmas tree!

  19. Ok, here I am - after collaboration with Gizzy, we decided we like this one best, so here's my contribution to the poetry contest. It's free form poetry, so it does not rhyme:

When I look at my dog
I see poetry in motion and
    It occurs to me that
    If one could weigh Love,
I would not be able to carry
    My 10 lb dog!

  22. I am posting my poem...you can also find it on my blog, www.acanineopines.blogspot.com! I would like to be entered the dog-only contest. Thanx!

    Dogs are like Christmas

A Christmas Eve when I was young
I slept by the fire where the stockings were hung
Then along came Santa down the flue
In a whisper he said, “I have a secret for you.”

Dogs are like Christmas every day of the year
Bringing joy to their loved ones, always being sincere
Quickly back up the flue and onto his sleigh
“On Dasher, on Dancer…” Santa was gone and away.

I sat and I pondered what the jolly man said
While symbols of Christmas danced in my head
At last I saw it from Santa’s point of view
Dogs ARE symbols of Christmas all the year through!

Like the shining star ever so bright
That faithfully guided on the cold winter’s night
A dog will lead you through life’s bad and life’s good
    As any devoted companion should.

Like the bell that chimes for the sheep as they roam
Helping the shepherd call his flock home
A dog’s love and trust you will immediately earn
And to your side, he will always return.

Like the candle, a beacon in the dark
A dog will inspire or warn with a bark
And like the wreath, a symbol that love has no end
A dog will always remain man’s best friend.

  23. Sorry -- just realized that I forgot to specify a prize pack. I'd say doggie-pack only 'cause Mom doesn't cook much. *snickers*

  24. The Holiday is here,
    I'm filled with glee.
    I see snow everywhere,
    And it makes me happy.
    I love Christmas,
    I love the treats.
    Wish you a merry Christmas,
To you as well as your furry family!

I'd like to be entered into BOTH contest prizes.

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  27. My Letter To Santy Paws by Richie

This year it will be different,

the first in our forever home.

I wonder what he’ll bring us,

stuffies, a ball or a juicy bone.

We don’t need much if honest,

‘Cos’ we havs the best fing ever.

    A loving home wiv pawrents,

he couldn’t top that NEVER !

A family who luvs us lots,

what more could two dogs ask.

Well loving homes for every dog,

    now thats a massive task.

So Santy our list is simple,

please let the whole world know.

So many don’t have what we do,

lets find them all somewhere to go.

    Hopes yu like it

  30. I've thought long and hard about what I was going to write! I blogged about your contest a few days ago, and now I finally have my entry for the doggie prize!

    Here it is:
I broke a toy that Emmett had,
    Somebody snitched on me.
I brought dirt into Mommy’s bed,
    Somebody snitched on me.
I drooled my water on Daddy’s floor
    Somebody snitched on me.
I chewed at the rug until it tore,
    Somebody snitched on me…

    I’m getting nothing for Christmas,
Sandy Paws thinks I’ve been bad.
    I’m getting nothing for Christmas,
And this makes me very sad.

I played the bitey on foster sister,
    Somebody snitched on me.
I let a growl out at next door Mister
    Somebody snitched on me.
    I knocked over Mommy’s plants,
Went in the bedroom and ate her pants,
Dug up the yard to find some ants,
    Somebody snitched on me.

    I’m getting nothing for Christmas
Sandy Paws thinks I’ve been bad.
    I’m getting nothing for Christmas,
And this makes me very sad.

So next year I’ll be good, whatever I do,
Because if I’m not, my toys will be few,
Sandy Paws won’t even bring me two!
And, again, I’ll get nothing for Christmas!

    -Corbin
ps. I really enjoyed reading everyones entries!

  31. Here's my attempt:

    Twas the night before christmas
    and all through our house
every dog seemed to be eager
    to squeak their stuffed mouse

    All their stockings were hung
    filled with bisquits and toys
    the girls were patient
    but not those boys!

    The tree was lit
    and the presents were wrapped
    so while waiting for Santa
    They decided to nap
