(almost) Wordless Wednesday - Windy Walk

Thanks to all who entered my giveaway (which ended yesterday)... winners will be announced tomorrow :)

My raiser has been taking me on (somewhat) short walks (which I LOVE!!), as she's wanting to make sure I can walk on "loose leash" and not be distracted by cars/leafs/animals/etc.
She's been very impressed with how well I've been walking (she's been doing this for months).

Enjoy the "forward walk" pictures/movie below
("forward walks" are in coat or harness... no "funny business" or sniffing around).

P.S. for all who are thinking "this forward walk sounds like NO FUN" - I really do enjoy it... and my raiser does take me on lots of "fun walks" too ("fun walks" are out of coat/harness and sniffing is allowed!)

(Movie of Rudy in harness in a "forward walk" - it's quite windy out, but Rudy doesn't mind at all. He really enjoyed the walk!)

  2. Guess da harness tells him when he's working and has to behave differently. He's doing great! I has to sniffs on all my walkies!

  3. What a good walker. :)
Glacier likes his "fun" walks too, but enjoys his working ones just as much...maybe even better.

  4. You look so happy and handsome, Rudy, in all of those pictures! I don't think Daisy could handle not being able to sniff during her walks so could you teach her how to do the "forward walk" sometime? And after that, Daisy will show you a fun walk that you'll never forget!

  6. hey Rudy,

That looks hard! I am very impressed by how well you handle forward walks. I don't know if I could last three steps without stopping to sniff and see what is going on! Good job!

  8. I love your flipped over ear! Bella's ears are ALWAYS flipped over like that. Does that allow you to hear better, Rudy? :)

  10. Hi Y'all,

I'm not allowed sniffies either when I'm walking at heel. It's the way I was trained in obedience classes. My Human makes sure I practice what I learned.

Rudy, you look like you're going to be a great working dog!

  13. I've heard of this before, but didn't believe it. Rudy, HOW can you resist sniffing?!! In my case, I not only sniff, but eat (or at least try to eat) anything and everything I find. It drives my asst. cRaZy. Do you think dogs can be passive-aggressive?

  19. I am thinking being good on a short walk is even harder than regular. I know how cracker you labradogs can be when you first get outside on the leash. That wind was fierce. Your mom must have had all her clothes on at once so as not to freeze.
