As you can tell from the pictures below, I'm wearing a very bright - neon pink bandage (not that I picked the color or anything), on my right front paw.
Though my raiser doesn't know how it happened, I somehow slightly cracked a toenail... and got blood everywhere. It was still attached pretty well, so my raiser was following our Area Coordinator's advice - and she was going to leave it attached. But I ended up tearing it completely off... (which made my raiser worry) so after talking with the Vet on the phone, my raiser ended up taking me in to the Vet's office, to get it looked at (just to make sure). The Vet told my raiser that I should spend the next few days resting... no running & jumping around.
But my raiser was surprised to here that (if I'm feeling up to it) I can attended the guide dog meeting this weekend.
(I hurt my "little" toenail on the far right).
The good news is... my "resting time" includes visiting all my blogging furiends!

I think the bandage is quite nice, but then, pink is my favorite color! I hope you're not down for too long. Lilac cracks nails all the time and it's not too long before she's up and at 'em again, so I'm sure you will be, too!

ReplyDeleteWhy oh why do they do this to us?? Pink?? Realy?? You do NOT want to know where they put pink stitches in me! (I haven't seen the tutor yet, but I did require some um, delicate surgery on a place that a boy should not be wearing pink!)

Been there, done that twice with Riley! She ends up with pink bandages, but then again...she's a girl! Those toe nails bleed SOOOO much...everywhere!! I bet your house looked like a crime scene.
ReplyDeleteThe first time Riley broke a nail, she pulled the hanging part off with her teeth...I was kind of glad because she kept getting it hung on things...yuck!

The bandage is very cool, but we bet you would love to get it off. We keep hearing so much about dogs cracking their nails. Hope your ouchie is better soon.

My old Simon gets bloody cracked nails once in a while. He came to us with a bad case of nail fungus and his nails no longer grow like they should.

ReplyDeleteOuch! I am sorry you hurt your nail, but so furry happy you will be healed quickly! I know pink is not an Alpha Male dog's color, but it does actually look nice against your black fur. Gives you a bit of a stylin' 80s look, a la Miami Vice. BOL!

Ouchie! I hope it isn't hurting too much. We have had broken nails before. It was no fun. I hope it heals soon.
ReplyDeleteOOOh, I hope it doesn't hurt too much! The other day, mommy noticed a tiny piece of my nail hanging off... but it was only a little piece and it didn't hurt to remove it. I hope the bandage comes off soon and you're back to moving around!

Yikes, that sounds painful. On a brighter note, the colour of that bandage is pretty cheery! I hope you're back to running around very soon!

ReplyDeleteouch, I have an owie foot too. I was playing when some how it was snagged, the vet had to cut it off and tat really hurt. I put myself on bed rest for three days! I still don't like people touching it. get well soon.
