Walk-A-thon '09

Hi everybody Frankie's trainer here.
Sorry I didn't post sooner, but I have been really busy(5 goats to milk-10 babies to feed...)
I had a blast at Walk-A-thon with Frankie, and I think she had fun too. She met one of her siblings named Dexter(I think that was his name) and we sat beside him and his trainer on Friday night (awards night).

Frankie did really well with all the other dogs around her, and she loved the ride down to FL. We stopped at some state signs so she could get her picture with them.
I have over 100 pictures from Walk-A-thon, and a lot of them are of her covered with dirt/sand at Walk-A-thon(Saturday). They had a dirt floor, which is fine - nice and cool for the dogs... unless they like rolling in dirt. She was covered with dirt(please enjoy the pictures of that).

I also did a "blind-fold walk" where they had some dogs that were ready to graduate at Walk-A-thon harnessed up and the trainers let anybody over 12 walk with the dog, even with obstacles in the way. (as seen in the pictures below) The trainer that was holding the dog's leash for the blind-fold walk just happened to be Brax's trainer!! I was so surprised! She asked me if I had trained any dogs for Southeastern and I said "yes, my first one went back last January and graduated in May." She asked the dogs name, and when I told her she said "I trained Brax when he returned to the school." She also said how obedient he was.
At 1pm on Saturday (28th) Frankie was taken to the guide dog school to be turned in, of course she had no clue what we were doing, so she just kept her tail wagging and walked away with the staff at the school.

I found out that my new puppy will be coming the end of April/beginning of May, they will have 2 different breeds: Labradors, or Hungarian Vizalas, since I just raised a Lab I told them I would like a Male Hungarian Vizala- of course it is not for sure that I am getting that breed, but I will find out more once I talk to the school,(yes I will keep you posted!)

For now please enjoy the pictures of Frankie's 2009 Walk-A-thon, and updates on Liberty. I hope to hear some about Frankie in a couple of weeks.
Oh and sorry, the pictures were posted out of order, and would take months to put in correct order, so enjoy the "not-in-order" pictures!

Frankie's, Brax's, & Liberty's trainer

Okay I admit, I REALLY miss Frankie,
that cute face is sooo cute!
BTW does she look dirty to you??

What about now, clean or dirty??

And of course just for you, the full neck
pose, there is no way she could be dirty...
After turning Frankie in, I went to the puppy kennel, and hugged some puppies, they are
very good for licking tears

Breezy, the guide dog (I think that was her
name) stops at a obstacle.

lady there was Brax's trainer!)

blue shirts, which is all the people walking at
Walk-A-thon(this year the shirts were blue)

Good luck Frankie! I hope Frankie becomes a guide dog. She seemed like she was well prepared heading off to school. She looks like she had a lot of fun at the Walk-a-thon. For your new puppy I hope you get a Vizsla. I am raising a Vizslador right now (Lab/Vizsla cross) and they are cool dogs. Very engergetic, but very smart.

We really like your blog!! Our Sasha was found in a shelter and was going to be trained as a service dog. But they found her hips weren't good enough. She is a big help to our Dad though. We were lucky to get her. I am still learning to blog and have a lot to learn. Keep up the good work.
