Puppy meeting & pizza

For this weeks puppy class our trainers were asked to bring 1-2 food distractions, my trainer decided to bring popcorn and a pizza.

Little Caesars kindly donated a pizza for us to use; man was that a hit for the dogs!! Luckily it was still whole by the end of the meeting, because otherwise one of the dogs in our group would be getting blamed for something...

There were a total of 4 dogs at the meeting-
Toby, Kukla, Spike & RockWe started our training outside working on our "lefts & rights", then moved to doing "sit & stand stays", we did "recalls" and of course the "meet & greet" (where we walk by another dog & person and us dogs are not allowed to say hi).

We then headed inside to work on "down under" (going under chairs which all of us dogs already knew!) then walking around our food distractions (and of course other dogs).

We worked on stand, sit & down stays around the food and then our trainer sitting down with us (so we learned not to be all over them), and last we did "puppy push ups" (stand-down-sit)

The pizza did stay whole, and all the popcorn & dog treats were still there when we were done- our trainers were so kind as to give each of us dogs a nice big dog bone when we finished!!
Enjoy the pictures (:

Downtown guide dog meeting

My trainer took me to the downtown guide dog meeting on Saturday morning.
2 of my siblings were there (Rocky & Duchess), and also 2 adult dogs (they will be returning to school in November!).
There is also a new guide dog puppy that might come to our group sometime(he is in one of our groups, but is still from SEGD).
He would love for you to check out his blog:
http://camerontheguidedog.blogspot.com/ -he is soo cute!
Back to me,
I had a blast at my guide dog meeting, I got to meet lots of new people and things(including a "dragon"!), so our group leader teamed us up into 2 dogs in a group. Another dog, "Kukla," and I teamed up. We also had a "puppy raiser to be" come with us, and she took turns working with me or Kukla. I thought she was nice!!

At one point we were taken on and off a bus, my trainer said it was to practice "boarding" a bus. I didn't get it, we didn't even sit down?!?

What we were doing was sort of scavenger hunt for "exposures" that our trainers can write down on our evaluations.

After about a hour of walking around downtown doing some training, we all met at a pizza place to eat lunch at (of course not us dogs).
My trainer was given a prize, and next week will be given a PetSmart gift card, because she had one of the best "outing" ideas, (she took me to the Rodeo)- I can't wait to figure out what she will buy with that gift card...
Enjoy the pictures & the movie of me walking across a water fountain!!

(My trainer tried putting captions with the pictures but blogger keeps messing the pictures and words up, sorry!)

I'm back... did you miss me??

My puppy sitter dropped me off at church this morning. Right when I heard my name being called I new my trainer was here!! I tried to jump out the car window, but decided it would be a long fall!
My trainer brought me back a new collar (that I still need to grow into!), and a "mickey mouse" dog toy for me & Liberty to share:)
Though I really missed my trainer for the week, I did have a blast with the puppy sitter!!
Enjoy some of the pictures my trainer took of me today:)

Thanks...

Hey this is Toby's trainer,

I just wanted to say a thanks to Scout & Freyja for featuring "Brax" on their blog for the Mr. dog contest. If you guys don't remember Brax, he is the first guide dog I trained- he is now a working guide dog for a lady in FL.

Leaving...Disney World

I just found out TODAY that I am going to a puppy sitters house later this afternoon.
And won't get to see my trainer 'till next Sunday- that will be a whole week and a couple days!!!

My trainer said she told me 2-3 months ago about it, because they have been planing their trip for quite a while. They are going to Disney world without me, can you believe them?!?!
This will be my last post 'till I get back, hope you miss me!!
Enjoy the the pictures my trainer took a couple weeks ago!
