Sparkie Comes... Sparkie Goes

I'm back from 4-H congress! Sparkie was WONDEFUL, and did great. With only 537 people there... he only got stepped on a couple times, and didn't mind one bit!
Sparkie got many complements on how well he behaved, and they were sure right!
For any dog this 4-H event could have been very stressful, Sparkie was never stressed out - and just enjoyed the entire thing!

When it came to the farewell dance, he did the 2 step with me, but then decided to bail on me and try "break dancing"... doggy style. Yes he was doing the tight twists/turns, and was totally feeling the music!

The following day before we left, people were coming up to me saying how well he break dances - and he was the best one on the floor!
Good to know that Sparkie has a second career...

I was happy to enjoy Sparkie this week, and this morning we traded back. Rudy was very happy to see me, and I'm told he did great.

Updates later on Rudy, for now enjoy some picture below!

Cow Day At Chick-fil-A

You read the title correct - my raiser MADE me "dress" up like a cow (by adding cute white paper spots onto me) - just to get more looks when she went to some "cow appreciation day" thing at Chick-fil-A.
But everybody loved me!
By the time my furry friends read this post... and look at the pictures - I'll be enjoying myself over at Sparkie's house, and Sparkie will be with my Raiser at some 4-H thing.
Hope you have a great week, as I know I will!

Photo of me wearing black/white with spots all over (yes - I'm wearing a cow bell, ears, and HOOFS too!), Rudy is beside me- but you can't see much on him.

Photo of Rudy's side - besides the blue guide dog coat, he's got on some white spots, and is also wearing a cow bell

Joan- Hello & goodbye!

Joan came to my house Saturday morning 1 week ago.
We left for 4-H congress early Monday morning.
Joan did great and got well over 200 comments on how well she behaved(there was over 1,200 kids there).
I took many, many, many pictures(most I attached), but blogger is not very good placing words with pictures so I am not putting words on top of them, sorry!! (when I only do a couple pictures it is easy to tell where the words go). Joan had fun staying in the dorms, she got to go many different places, including bowling & watching a 4-H musical. While bowling she decided to cram herself between the 2 "benches" (seen in picture below) and stayed there the whole time 'til we left!

After bowling we went out to eat then left to go watch the "4-H musical"- it lasted 1 & 1/2 hours. Joan slept through most of it, although when they got the whole audience to sing a "tooty tat" she jumped up and watched!
Joan attended 2 dances, the last dance most people wore prom or really nice dressess.
We were the first in line for the dinner, (first picture below).
Because at the last dance we were the last people in line, and had to stand in line for over a hour!
On Tuesday night Joan and I manned a Southeastern Guide Dog display table for all 4-H members, sponsors, and alumni. After all, part of being a puppy raiser is education and marketing. We sure did alot of both!
Joan was a really awesome dog. She goes back to training August 6, so I won't get to see her again. I will miss her, but I am glad to have Toby back(I just got him today)- blog post coming later:)
