But my trainer wanted to keep her little cousin occupied, so she let him dress me up!

For those of you who are just checking out this blog WELCOME!
This blog follows the life of a guide dog in training.
I raise guide dogs for the blind out of Southeastern Guide Dogs in Palmetto FL (http://www.guidedogs.org/).
The past dogs I've raised are: Brax, Frankie, Toby & Rudy (click the links under the header picture to read more about each one).
I'm currently raising my 5th guide dog puppy "Brandon"
(male yellow Lab - D.O.B. 9-4-11), who I recived on October 30th 2011.
I will keep Brandon for about 12-16 months, then he'll head
IFT (In For Training) back to the guide dog school for 6-8 months of training (plus evaulations) with "professinal" trainers and hopefully will then graduate with a blind person. *Please note though, that only 1 out of every 12 dogs will get "Carrer Changed" due to medical/training issues* I do currently have a guide dog puppy down at the guide dog school (Rudy) who is in "phase 3" (last phase of training) and will hopefully get placed with a blind person soon.
Please feel free to follow -

Wow! I feel for you Frankie, I really do. You looked kind of stressed out in that picture! =) Even though they can be kind of pesky sometimes, little kids can be fun to have around! My owner/trainer's nana just got me some clothes! And I didn't really like to wear them, it was really hot wearing clothes! At least my owner gave the neighbor's poodle, Josie, the one that said "Too Cute" Because I would NOT be seen in that!!!!
Cute, but I know exactly how you feel. I felt the same way when my owner first put my therapy coat on!
Oh, Frankie! You look so stressed! I really dont like little children, but that is good that you are so tolerant.
