Snowy Day!

SNOW... SNOW.... SNOW!!!
that's right, it's a super snowy day here at our house.
I have discovered that snow is a glorious, wet, and exciting treat to eat!  I found it to be very tasty.
Snow is also amazing to play in, I never knew you could have so much fun!
Do any of my furry followers have any snowy white goodness?

My Furry First - WHITE Christmas! *(and GIVEAWAY ends tonight)*

Hey furry friends!
Not only was Saturday my FIRST Christmas - it also ended up being... my very first WHITE Christmas!!
It started snowing white goodness Christmas night - and the following day EVERYTHING was furry cool white :)
I wouldn't eat any of it off the ground, but once my raiser made a ball of snow in her hand and told me "okay"- I gobbled it right up and it was furry good!! (Since I'm being trained to be a guide dog - we aren't allowed to be eating things off the ground - and my raiser was quite happy that she didn't even have to remind me about that - I just ignored it!)
Liberty just so happened to be outside EVERY time my raiser took me out to play; so the pictures below have Liberty in like EVERY picture!
She really enjoys the snow - and wishes I could be turned off leash to play - but as rules say: I've got to stay on leash!
I'm planning on posting Christmas pictures tomorrow - and a really cool post for Wednesday.
But fur now; enjoy the white pictures AND video below - Liberty is the huge dog in the pictures/video with me (The family's 2yr old female English Mastiff).
Hope everyone had a furry good Christmas,

BTW - the furry cool hands free waist leash giveaway I'm doing ends TONIGHT so make sure to head over and enter - it's very easy!

It's snowy, with a chance of fun!

Hey everybody!
I did enjoy the snow, for a little while, but all to soon I was doggone BORED with it.
Thank goodness for the sun, because I now have "some" grassy spots in my yard! (see pictures below)
And where there's snow, it's soft, (not crunchy hard like it was earlier this morning!).

Though I do have to admit I had a BLAST when my trainer took me sledding with her, later on I found out I was the ONLY dog of hers she has sledded with; I must be a pawsome awesome doggy!

On to the "fun" part of this post though...

I heard that some contests have started the voting on their blogs. I would love your vote (unless you already gave it to another doggy) for the following 3 contests -

Niamh's contest just started today, voting will continue for 3 days, scurry over & cast your vote!
(Entry photos can be viewed here)

Tucker's "sit-stay" contest started off yesterday, voting will continue for 4 more days, stop bye & vote for your favorite photo!
(Entry photos can be viewed here)

Mango's contest is off to a great start, the first class "cat dogs" has already finished, and for today "hound dogs" are being judged. Stop bye his blog and vote for your favorite "hound dog".
(I am entered in his contest - but I'm in the class "hard workers", which isn't available for voting yet).
Please don't feel like you have to vote for me in those contests, just make sure to stop bye & vote for your favorite!
I'm gonna go take a nap, have a happy Monday & first day in February :)

White... SNOW!!

(Black/white picture of Toby's head with
snow in the background, you can also see
his leather collar & black leash)

SNOW, REAL SNOW!!
You may remember the post I did back in December 2009, how I only got "ice" snow, (all you could do was slip & slide!).

Well yesterday it snowed, yes SNOWED, no fake snow like before, real flaky white snow!

Today (Saturday) my raiser's plans had been canceled (as the weather was too bad), so she took me way out back to go sledding! Taking the camera with her too!
She got her sister to take some videos of her & I sledding together (yeah...), I mostly just pushed her down the hill, and then ran "somewhat" beside her! She did have to remind me that the sled is NOT for chewing on, though I think it tasted pretty good!

I was wearing a long red leash while out playing, so she didn't have to worry about me running away (we were in a fenced in area too), not that I would run away (...) my raiser just likes to be on the safe side!

Please note that I was NOT pulling my raiser at ANY times with any of my pawsome strength, (though it may look like I am pulling her down the hill, I'm definantly not!!).

After some fun sledding she let me play "fetch" (for me it's "go get it", don't worry I'm not learning to "fetch" like real dogs!). My raiser thought it was really funny to watch me catch a piece of snow she threw, and then me not be able to find it; I just thought it was plain fun!

Enjoy the many movies & pictures my raiser attached below, (You may notice that I'm wearing different collars in different pictures, the one's of me wearing my pawsome red leather collar were taken up at the house, the ones of me wearing a pink collar were taken down where we were sledding)

Did you get any snow? Feel free to comment away!

Have a pawsome snowy weekend:)

(Picture of Toby eating snow, his red collar & black leash are also very visible in the picture)

Above, (Toby following me down the hill; he is running beside the sled, which I am on, you also notice to the left side there is a "round metal thing" we sometimes use it as a "tunnel" to sled through)

Above, (Toby "fetching" the snow I threw for him, he was really enjoying the "icy treat"!)

Above, (Toby in a sit-stay on a blue sled, I am pulling the sled, while holding Toby's lead, we are going VERY slow. You may notice that Toby comes 1 sec before I called him... he didn't like the idea of sledding very much!)

SNOW!?! (and Christmas party)

(Toby's head with snow/ice in background)

SNOW?
Well that's what I thought. All these dog blogs my trainer follows are posting about snow.
Having pictures attached of dogs jumping, fighting, playing, eating, and running in snow.
So I was pretty excited to hear we would be having snow Saturday.
But I was wrong, all we got was sleet & ICE. It did start snowing for a little while, with SLEET mixed in, but by Saturday morning the only thing I could do was slip and slide:(
My trainer couldn't even get me to play outside! My feet wouldn't sink into the white magic like I was told it would.
I am really not to fond of ice skating rinks, so I couldn't wait for the ice to go away!

Of course today it is all melted, and I am thankful for that:) My trainer said maybe next time it might be snow!

Sorry about the snow pictures - my trainer forgot to take me out early Saturday morning, so by the time she took me out late afternoon more than half of the white magic was gone!

Yesterday night I went to a Christmas party. My trainer "made" me wear this jingle bell collar, and everyone kept saying I was CUTE!

My trainer also had me do a down stay, leave it. She wanted to eat with her friends on the ground, so I had to lay beside her without moving, and knocking over cups/or eating food.

She was very proud of me, since I didn't mess with any one's food!

My trainer is trying to contact our area coordinator for the guide dog group, to find out if I can have my Nyla bones back! I'm told to keep my paws crossed. I found out it's not near as easy as it sounds?? Think about it... paws crossed, it's hard!
Enjoy all the pictures!! (Remember, I asked my trainer to label the photos for me.)

Liberty...she writes, too!

Hey everybody, my name is Liberty!
This is the first post I have ever done.

Frankie told me all I have to do is write, add pictures and publish. Sounds easy? Well I guess puppy paws don't fit on the keyboard well, because to me this blogging business is not easy at all!!

Frankie was turned into the school Saturday around 1pm. Her trainer took lots of pictures at Walk-A-thon, and will be working on a post soon.

No I'm not a Pug, I'm an English Mastiff. I'm just now 10 weeks old. I love getting my picture taken, and my owners have probably taken over 500 pictures of me.

Frankie told me that people can leave comments on posts I do. That sounds like fun; so anybody who reads this please leave a comment so I can meet all of Frankie's friends!!

It snowed Sunday, and we got over 9 inches of snow! It was quite fun to play in, but it was very hard to walk through.

Please enjoy all the pictures of ME, and leave comments!

SNOW!!

It really snowed!!

Of course it only lasted for a little while, (by the time my trainer brought me outside to play the snow was mostly gone).

I still had fun "eating" the snow, even though it wasn't much.

I hope it snows again soon, maybe again before I go back to school!!
My trainer has been working hard on filling out my last eval for IFT (in for training), and only has the pages left of telling stories about me, (just in case I do get placed with a blind person).

Enjoy the pictures and movie of me with "almost no snow", and leave comments on how you like the pictures...:)
