Photo Shoot - Doggy Style!

Hey furry fun friends!!
My raiser has been a little bit busy over the last couple weeks... and sadly only let me post a couple times :(
I'm hoping some things will die down soon, so I can get back to posting (almost) everyday!
I really hope all of you guys have missed me.. I've sure missed reading about each of you guys! And seeing your furry fun faces :(

My last puppy meeting was the ever so fun... PHOTO SHOOT! Yup... we had REAL photographers there... taking pictures of us furry fun doggies! (which we should be seeing some of the pictures later on... and hopefully I can post some that were taken).
Due to the fact that my Raiser's sister (who is ALWAYS taking pictures during the meeting), was a bit distracted by a little Chocolate Lab puppy one of the photographers brought with them... so she only snapped a couple shots - and it didn't show all the cool action of the photographers taking pictures of us... but don't fret your furry faces... cause though you can't see all the fun action... you can imagine it!
Just imagine...
Almost 7 photographers... with huge cool cameras... all snapping pictures of the same thing - at different angles - people calling us puppies - trying to get us to look at the camera. And the hardest part... ?
Doing all those down/sit/stand stays for the photos... but best of all...
I made my raiser proud... she was very happy with how good I was!!

Enjoy the couple pictures below,
Update on the giveaway: Ordered the items I needed... so the giveaway will be coming REAL soon!

A Memory "Award"

A while back on one of Toby's posts, Lola left an interesting comment -

"Ummmm, this might be too much to ask, but Toby, do you think your Raiser would let us have a picture of the pawprints to put in a special place on our blogs if we want to. I want to have a page for special things and it would be extra special to have a remembrance of you when you're off to your new life. I haven't known you long, but I will most definitely miss you"

After reading that comment, I realized what a wonderful idea Lola had.

I've decided to call Toby's paw print stepping stone a "Memory Award" and would like to pass it on to ALL of my followers & friends.

You can put it on your sidebar, include it in a post, or do both :)

I would love for Toby's furry friends to take this award and pass it on to all their friends, keeping the memory alive.

If you would like to post about this award, I only ask that you include this 1 "rule" along with the picture -

1. One way you keep memories?

My answer - paw print stepping stone or pictures. (Yes, it's 2 - but I love doing both!)

Whether or not you are wanting to post about it or save it on your sidebar, Toby would be so happy!

Thanks to Lola for this wonderful idea!

Please feel free to expect Toby's "Award"

Friday is for Fun

That's right, I had FUN today!
This morning my Raiser and I went to the running trail and jogged 3 miles... those were the BEST 3 miles I ever ran! Of course, I don't run much.
That was my LAST time on the trail, and most likely the last time I'll run 3 miles with my Raiser :(
On the plus side - she got PICTURES! A picture may be worth a thousand words - but my Raiser likes them for memory, I'm happy to know that my Raiser will have many memories of me, even though I'm gone.
We also went into town to run some errands, and my Raiser got many more pictures of me. Most of those pictures will be saved for later blog posts while I'm at "college", as my Raiser just heard it might be a 3 month wait before she gets another puppy and she wants to do some posts while I'm gone.
I hope all you guys had a FUN FRIDAY!
Please enjoy the pictures below of my run!

**(Don't forget to enter my giveaway - you have 1 week left, just leave a comment on my giveaway post and you will be entered)**

I've been tagged!

One of my newest friends "Lola" tagged me to play this pawesome photo game.
Rules:

1). go to your 1st photo folder.
2). find the 10th picture.
3). post the 10th picture and tell everyone about it!
4). tag 5 other doggie blogs so they can have some photo fun, too!!

Well we have 2 different photo files - one "all" photos and another "just guide dog" one.

This one is from the guide dog section -

Picture of Brax & Rei in a down-stay, Rei is a black dog and Brax is a yellow Goldadore

It's a photo of BRAX (My Raiser's first dog), I'm NOT in it!
Brax is with another doggy - Rei (we met with her & her Raiser in 4-H back in 2007!).
They are both in a down -stay (not looking at the camera).

This is from the "all" photo section (yes, it just so happens to be dog related too!)

Picture of Brax in a sit-stay in front of the guide dog booth. In the booth there is a dog crate (with breed information), dog pillow, SEGDI sign & many pieces of paper with guide dog facts/such all through out it! The main color is blue.

It's a photo of BRAX (why not me? How does Brax get to be in both?).

He is sitting in front of the guide dog booth my Raiser made at a fair back in 2007 - a third place ribbon is tied to his collar!

Kind of funny how both are of Brax - from 2 different sections...

Now, for the people I'm tagging -

1. Khyra
2. Erin & Pompei (this is also Rei's Raiser)
3. Bunny
4. Dory
5. Mimi & Cabana

If your name is above then TAG!

I really don't know who has/hasn't done it. So if I just tagged somebody who's already been tagged - sorry! (I have heard some of my friends are already tagged - I hope some of the above aren't tagged!)

I also just received some pawesome awards - I plan on posting them tomorrow in my BIRTHDAY POST! (which won't be posted 'til night, as my Raiser will be doing Easter petting zoos - and I'm going with her!)

Letters From Camp - and goodbye Duchess!

Hey blogging buddies - this will be my LAST POST before I leave... I will NEVER get to post on this blog again :( I hope all you guys miss me!

Tomorrow morning I will be leaving with my handler to meet up with my raisers and the family Toby is with - so we can all switch back! Finally I will be HOME!
My handler put together a slide show for you guys; it's kind of short, but it goes through some various photos she has taken of me (most you have seen, but some were never posted on the blog). I hope you enjoy it!
Toby's swap family sent a "photo email" today... with lots and lots of pictures. My handler didn't want me to post them all - but said to pick a "couple". (You may also notice in some of the pictures, that Toby has a raw spot on his nose - that somehow got there when he was in the crate at the swap family's house, no idea why).

I had fun blogging for the "almost" 3 weeks I was here, and really hoped you guys enjoyed reading my pawesome posts.

Enjoy the slide show of ME, and the pictures of Toby below. (please note that my handler tags all photos, but all will have words beside them - as that was what Toby sent along with them)

Something's missing...

AND IT'S ME!
Notice in the pictures below, I'm not in ANY of them! My handler went to some "4-H" camp thing, and LEFT me :( She thought it would be better to leave me since I would be bored and such. (and the possibility of me coming into heat)

BUT, she came back home today!
I did hear something about me leaving Friday... back to my raiser's! I think we may be "swapping" back - so in 5 days you will have Toby back & blogging! All for him to leave in just a few weeks... :(

I did have a blast while she was gone, of course I was quite happy to see her come back.
Hope you all had a Sunny SUNday!
P.S. My handler will be taking some pictures of me with some animals (joy oh joy...), so before I leave I'll be doing a animal post.

Duchess Day!

Hey guys, it's Duchess here.
I finished up my studies on blogger world, so I should be a pro at this!
Toby's Raiser has been busy with introducing me to EVERYTHING!
Somehow she thinks I should meet some animals...
Yesterday I met some mini pigs, a new baby goat, chickens, a llama, alpacas, bunnies and SO MUCH MORE!
I didn't like the alpacas to much, and that pig freaked me out!
My handler took many pictures of me meeting animals & such, so make sure to check out the pictures below (she even tags them!).
I got to help set up for a 4-H yard sale yesterday, and today it opened, so we went up to help "man" it. I got to lay there and be bored for HOURS; but my handler told me I did very good :)(P.S. Toby's Raiser will be called My handler, because she isn't my raiser/trainer).
Tomorrow I will be attending a guide dog puppy meeting. I heard something about it being at a police station...
More updates later, enjoy the pictures!
Please leave comments, as I want to know how my blogging is...Thanks!

Letters From Camp... PICTURE TIME!

A few words from Toby-
"here's a few shots! More very soon!
~Toby~"
I also got an email update from the family he's staying with-
"Toby is a very smart boy...knows his commands nicely...
Distractions are many for his brain at the moment...(so much to see !!!.. so many things to sniff, to mark, to paw!!!) We are greatly enjoying him...

Hubby is off tomorrow and is planning for a full day of exposures and tooling around stores, etc.... I will give ya the lowdown on their day...

Did a bit of nail trimming just now.. he was so polite...
No issues with eyes/etc. so far - so good
More soon!!"

You may notice in the pictures Toby gets to meet their new puppies (rescued 3 week old Lab mixes).

More updates soon, enjoy the pictures! (Some Toby sent with words beside them, but all are tagged by me).

Southeastern Guide Dog school...

Hey everybody, I'm here in FL enjoying my doggy life! (anytime I go out of the room, I see 5+ dogs!)
We started our trip at 3am this morning (if you count that morning...).
Arriving in FL late afternoon, just in time for a SEGDI school tour.
We got our picture taken in front of the pawesome SEGDI rock out front, then headed in to start the tour.
Once we got to the IFT (In For Training) & Puppy kennel, us dogs got put in a "kennel van", since we weren't allowed in the kennels:( At least I had some "buddies" beside me!
My Raiser told me she had a BLAST in the puppy kennel, and the pups were soo cute! (see pictures below!).
They headed down to the IFT kennel to visit all the dogs that have returned to finish training. She had a list of dogs she knew that she was hoping to get pictures of. A couple were in the kennels at the time, but some were out training:(
We enjoyed seeing the school, I said my goodbyes and we headed over to the hotel.

This hotel is PACKED With SEGDI (and other) puppy raisers/guide dog users!
I walk out of my room... and see many dogs!!
If my Raiser's computer will work tomorrow, hopefully I'll post, otherwise WAT post will be posted by her when she gets home... without me.
Enjoy the pictures.
The second to last picture is of My Raiser & I with Kathy Champion & Angel. Kathy is a blind lady, who just recently received a guide dog - Angel (who was a dog in our group!).
To learn more about Kathy, visit here.
Have a FUN FRIDAY!!

Library Assignment

Hey guys, Toby here. (really quick!)
My Raiser, her father and I are getting ready to head down to FL. I'm going to ask my Raiser's mom to publish this post for me, and check my spelling and such. (I'm SO tired, my eyes are like half closed).

I had a "blast" at the library yesterday. There were many kids for me to not play with, and they all asked questions about me!
After play time, all the kids got a chair, then brought it over near me & made a circle for story time. The teacher read out a book called "Mouse's first Christmas", it was sure funny!

My Raiser even stood up for a couple minutes & talked about the guide dogs.
I enjoyed "helping" my Raiser make a edible craft afterwards (don't worry, I really didn't!).

I did fine with all the noise & singing, and behaved like a perfect dog.
Please enjoy the pictures & movies!
