Tuesday with Trixie

I've finally got to meet my playdate pal's new "sister"! (our neighbors' new 12 week old pup).

My furry cool raiser took me over for a short playdate, and I got to sniff Trixie (the new puppy) through the fence!
She's a world of cutest and oh so small; she's also a rescue puppy which is why she is a little bit skinny, but her new owners are working on fattening her up!

Since she is still quite small and "fragile" I wasn't allowed to play with her... but someday soon I shall be able too!

I was quite happy to be able to sniff her through the chain link fence that Tracker & I were playing in, but poor little Trixie was dying to come play with us!

Remember my neighbor/playdate pal Tracker?

Well... Tracker's owner just brought home a new little fella named Trixie! (A female Black Mouth Cur/Boxer mix 12 week old rescue puppy). My raiser said she is soo cute, and hopefully in the next couple weeks; I'll get to meet her! (picture coming soon).

So instead of 1 playdate pal... I'll have TWO!

On a side note... I've got a furry cool puppy meeting tomorrow (my raiser will learn how to give ME CPR, mouth to mouth, & basic medical care for dogs), I knows I'll have lots of furry fun!

PLAYDATE!

My furry cool raiser set up a play date for today with my cool buddy Tracker (who I've not played with in months!).
Tracker is our neighbor's Black Mouth Cur. dog - he's a little older than me, but we are about the same size.
We had a playdate back in July 2010, but then my raiser got furry busy - and never had time to take me over again. She decided (starting in 2011) that she would try to set up some playdates with Tracker.
My first 2011 playdate was today - and we had loads of fun! I was there for (about) 1 hour - my raiser read science while us 2 pups played (having to look up from her book every 2 seconds - to make sure we were playing nicely!). It would be even better with more dogs - but I'm still happy to be able to play with Tracker!
All in all we both had loads of fun today, of course I slept right when we got back home :)

Playdate... ME?

Remember Tracker? The cute little male black mouth cur pup. He's now a 5 month old puppy - who needs a friend!

The family had another large dog, but due to some horrible aggressive issues she had to be put down. Which leave Tracker lonely - as the little dog they have, doesn't care to play with him.


So? My raiser had an idea of bringing me over to his house to play... I'm only 1 month younger, and we get along so perfect together! (okay, not PERFECT... but at least a "little" bit!).

Today was our first "playdate" and we played for over an hour! It was a blast and I get to go back tomorrow!
(My raiser does stay over with us while we play in the fenced in yard - and she doesn't let us ruff house either - always thinking about safety!)

New Pup Update... and a NAME GAME??

You may notice below the list of Toby's followers I have a new "ticker" (count down gadget).
This was just added to count down the days 'till my new puppy comes!

I called today and found out "new puppy" will be arriving in my state Sunday evening on the 23rd!
I was hoping to pick him up next Thursday, but the family who will be bringing up the litter happens to be vacationing down in FL right around that time - and will be leaving Sunday morning. I'm not complaining though - I don't have to drive all the way to FL!

I don't know "new puppy's" name yet. I most likely won't find out the name 'til he's picked up... unless I get lucky - if so I'll make sure to let you guys know :) Maybe...

BUT, while we wait on the puppy... why not have a little fun??

Stay tune for a NAME POOL! (I don't know if I'll give away a prize or not...) The only problem is... you are just guessing random names (for boys), as our school doesn't do "letter litters", they have people willing to sponsor a puppy (for $3500) - which includes naming.
I will be doing a "puppy name game" sometime soon though, but it may not have prizes... sorry!

Also note that as of TOMORROW, it will be FOUR WEEKS since Toby left. Which means... I should be receiving a phone call/email in the next couple days on an update (if he passed his medicals... how he's doing in training... such).

So stay tuned for a TOBY UPDATE and a NAME GAME!!

Please let me know if you guys would want to play a "Name Game" without even having any hints.

Toby entered her GABE giveaway last month - and he was the lucky winner! (It is sad he was not here to "get" it though).
Tracker and Liberty cared NOTHING for the book when it arrived (see pictures below). I guess they figured "no treats - no good"!
They may not like it, but I'm enjoying it!

I Did It For Toby -

1 week before Toby "left" (went back to school) I decided to start running. (as in - 3 miles running!).
I ran twice with Toby before he left, and kept it up after he was gone, then decided to enter a 5k race.
Of course this race had to be AFTER Toby was gone :( So he wouldn't be here to cheer me on.
This race was last Saturday.
With over 180 people running (and walking!) it, I happened to get a prize... a trophy... for second OVERALL female. Yes, I was the SECOND female to cross the finish line!

Toby would have been proud to see me finish and I wish he was still with me, but he has much better things to do!
I'm happy to have won a trophy, since I just started running 2 1/2 weeks ago I was quite surprised!

On a different note, Tracker came over today. We had so much fun playing together! I wonder how long I will be having him over for - a couple more days, another week? Either way, Liberty is LOVING him. He is her new "play buddy" and she waits by the door each morning for me to run over to pick him up!

I'm off to do another race "for" Toby this weekend, wish me luck!

Another Day??

Yep!
I offered to keep Tracker another day (or 2) if they (my neighbors) needed. It seems that Tracker is a "little" bit of a handful for a person who just had back surgery, so he came over this morning. (Liberty was quite happy!) and spent all day with me!

I'm loving how housebroken he is, and of course, how well he listens.
(I'm thinking... future guide dog?? Joking:) But he is smart enough for one!)

He's a great dog, and I'm so happy I get my "puppy fix" AND get a chance with "puppy training" before my new little one arrives :) (It's kind of like a "refresher course"!)
